Power CSL Scope 

Design and supply of medium voltage repair joints, cable pulling heads and hang-offs for repair of 2 subsea power cables linking offshore oil platforms off UAE.

Background

A UAE oil company experienced faults on 2 subsea power cables close to offshore platforms. Power CSL were contracted to design and supply cable repair joints, pulling heads and hang-offs on a very short timescale. The subsea cable design included MV power cores, optical fibres, and LV control cores. The hang-offs needed to interface directly to the HV junction boxes already installed on the platforms.

Power CSL Deliverables 

  • Supply of repair joints tailored to the specific subsea cable design
  • Supply of hang offs (including coupling arrangement to HV junction box)
  • Supply of cable pulling heads

Outcome

All products were designed and supplied on time to the agreed technical specification.
